25 Years (1974-1999) of Service to the Lord

23 June 1974⠀ ⠀ Emmanuel Church begins meetings in St John Ambulance hall, Epsom, with fourteen people present.
30 Nov 1975The first baptisms - nine people baptised.
1975-1979About 400 to 500 people pass through the church; the majority being overseas students.
16 June 1979David Yan is commissioned to visit S.E. Asia while Dr. Norman Lawgun is commissioned to serve in Emmanuel Church. Stephen Turner preaches the commissioning sermon.
5 August 1979 Shalom Church, Singapore, begins meetings with sixteen people present. Shalom Church is the first Reformed Baptist Church in Singapore
19 Feb 1984Emmanuel Church sets apart Stephen Turner to begin a new church on Auckland’s North Shore.
23 May 1993Wei En Yi is set apart in Singapore to be pastor of Shalom Church.
22 March 1997 Church member Nelly van Acker travels to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with plans to serve the Lord in that land.
7 Feb 1999Emmanuel Church commences meetings in its own premises at 730 Mt Eden Road.
20 June 1999Emmanuel Church commemorates its 25th Anniversary. Pastor Joseph Hewitt of London is our special guest.
