Sermon Summary

God spoke to Moses about salvation (3:7-12). God speaks to us today about the same thing (Matt.28:16-20). The content of what he told Moses is the same as what he tells us today. This means the essence of God's way of salvation has not changed. He is constant; his plan is constant.
The Bible is about Jesus Christ so we should not be surprised if Moses in Exodus points us to Jesus.
Observe now God's great plan of salvation noting in particular the link between Moses in the book of Exodus and Jesus Christ in the New Testament, especially in Matthew 28:16-20.
Israel was in slavery (2:23) We are slaves of sin (Eph.2:1-3).
Israel needed deliverance (3:9,10). We need deliverance from the domain of sin (Rom.8:20-23).
God spoke to Israel through Moses (3:10). God speaks to us through Jesus (Hebrews 1:1-4).
God sees, hears and knows (3:7,9). Jesus sees, hears and knows all things (John 2:24,25).
God came to Moses with a plan of salvation (3:8). Jesus has come to us with a plan of salvation (Matt.1:21).
God would bring Israel out of slavery (3:10). Jesus brings us out of bondage (Rom. 6:2).
Moses would lead Israel to the promised land (3:8). Jesus leads us to heaven (Heb. 6:19,20).
God dealt with Moses’ doubts (3:11). Jesus deals with his disciples’ doubts (Matt.28:17).
God promised his presence (3:12). Jesus promises his presence (Matt.28:20).
God promised success (3:12). Jesus promises he will keep his church (Matt.16:18).
It is clear that the essence of God's commissioning of Moses is similar to Jesus' commissioning of the apostles. We conclude that the Lord's plan of salvation is an unchanging plan.
Since God is constant in his plan of salvation beware of meddling with the divine plan. The devil conjures up changes but God does not change. Deliverance is through Jesus and Jesus only.
In the light of this great plan of deliverance let us believe in God through Jesus Christ. Let us serve him all the days of our lives.
