Be Ready for The Return of Jesus (Matthew 24:32-44)
Sermon Summary
Pastor David Yan

Jesus spoke openly of his second coming. Amazingly he spoke like this before he had even died. He was not deluded. He was the Son of God who came to this world. He spoke then as he does now — with full authority. No man ever spoke like him. He said he is coming again. Are you ready?
Concerning his coming again he taught his followers to observe nature and seasons. When a fig tree bears leaves it will soon bear its fruit in season.
Seasons are time-markers. To everything there is a season. There is constancy in the seasons. There is constancy in God's dealings with us. In due season Jesus will return.
When the signs Jesus spoke of such as earthquakes, famines, wars, pestilences are seen the end is near. Observe these signs and be ready.
Jesus wants his followers to know that the time is near— at the doors! If you expect a parcel from the Post Office you will watch out for it. Watch out for the gift that comes from heaven. It is at the door!
God's promises will certainly be fulfilled. Heaven and earth may pass away but his word will endure. The generation which heard Jesus speak will see the beginning of the signs which he spoke of. These signs are the beginning of sorrows.
When Jesus returns people will be conducting themselves as in the days of Noah. People have not changed. They rejected God in the days of Noah; they reject Jesus today.
No one knows the exact moment Jesus returns. Do not pay heed to date-fixers. They do not know times and seasons.
The return of Jesus will see the separation of people. It will be the separation of believers from non believers; sheep from goats.
Jesus exhorts us to be watchful. Be ready for the Son of Man for he shall come when you do not expect it.
We must beware of distraction and deception. In the Garden of Eden Eve was distracted by the serpent and then deceived. When Jesus returns people would have been distracted and deceived. The devil’s strategy has not changed.
Be faithful, focused and fervent. Be faithful to Jesus. Be focused just as Jesus was when he went to Calvary's cross. Be fervent for Jesus. Live for him. Witness for him. He is coming again. When he does may he say to you "Well done, good and faithful servant."
