Numbers 11:1-3

No sooner is Israel out of Egypt, she is complaining. The Lord hears the grumbling and is displeased.

(1) Some people are habitual grumblers. Israel was continually murmuring.
(2) The Lord is justifiably angry. He is faithful to his people. Yet they grumble.
(3) The Lord’s wrath is awesome. When he vents his anger people will know it.
(4) Intercessory prayer stops wrath. Moses prayed. The Lord’s anger ceased.

We also murmur against God and people. Moses prayed for the wayward Israelites. We have one who is greater than Moses - Jesus Christ. He prays for us.

Lesson: THE INTERCESSORY PRAYER OF JESUS STOPS GOD'S WRATH

We are dependent on Jesus’s intercession to deal with our inherited sin and our indwelling sin. Come now and receive Jesus as your mediator.

Scriptures

...you...are kept by the pwer of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:5).

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials (1 Peter 1:6).
