Christ Jesus is the Only Sacrifice Acceptable to God For He is Sinless and Has Made Atonement For Sinners (Leviticus 1:1-9). The Hebrews had significant rituals. In Leviticus 1:1-9 we have the ritual regarding the sacrifice of an animal for the atonement of sins. Leviticus 1:1-9 teaches us the nature of that offering. Let me go one step ahead and state that from the New Testament perspective we learn what this ritual means. It signifies that Christ Jesus is the only sacrifice acceptable to God for he is sinless and has made atonement for sinners. |

2 Corinthians 6:13 The gospel is about your salvation. Paul makes this clear. He points out that he is an ambassador for Christ and that his message is that you should be reconciled to God (2 Cor.5:20.21). You must not waste opportunity because now is God’s time for you to be saved (2 Cor.6:1,2). |

Every day is a day of opportunity. Paul pleaded with people to receive the gospel of God’s grace when they heard it. His message to us is - don’t waste opportunity for now is God’s time for you to be saved. In making this plea Paul is working together with Christ who stands with his people when they plea on his behalf. |

God has representatives in this world. They are his ambassadors. Paul was an ambassador. Today, Christians are his ambassadors. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 talks about the ambassador’s message. And what is this message? It is that people should be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and so become righteous in God’s sight. |

Today is Chinese New Year’s Day. At new year in most cultures people go around wishing each other much happiness. The Bible speaks of a happiness but it is not the happiness the world gives. It is the happiness that comes through being forgiven by God. Indeed, this is the theme Psalm 32:1-2. The blessed person is the person who has had his sins forgiven. How can a person come to this blessed state? |
